Who makes it
TuxShell is made by Vasili Grigolaia (vgrigolaia on GitHub). It keeps your hosts in one place and connects with the system ssh, so your config, keys, agents and jump hosts work as they already do.
Free, and staying free
TuxShell is free software under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later. You may use, change and share it under that license.
End-to-end encrypted sync and team features may come later as a separate paid service. The app itself stays free.
The name and logo
The name “TuxShell” and the TuxShell logo are not covered by the license, so that people can always tell the official app from other builds. Forks are welcome under another name and logo. Packaging the unmodified official releases for a distribution is fine. Details: TRADEMARKS.md.
Contributing
Bug reports, ideas and pull requests are all welcome.
- Report a problem: open an issue with your TuxShell version (Preferences → About), your Linux distribution or macOS version, and what happened. Please don’t paste passwords, private keys or host names you’d rather keep private.
- Pull requests: for anything bigger than a small fix, open an issue first. See CONTRIBUTING.md.
- Contributor License Agreement: pull requests need a one-time CLA. A bot asks you when you open your first pull request; signing takes one click. You keep the copyright in your contribution.
