Rules for your own shortcuts
- A shortcut needs Ctrl, Alt or an F key.
- Keys the terminal needs, like Ctrl+C, can’t be taken.
- Shift with a key (Shift+Space) is allowed after a warning, since it’s easy to press while typing; in text fields such a key still types.
On macOS
The app’s shortcuts use ⌘ where this page says Ctrl (Ctrl+Shift+L becomes ⇧⌘L), and the terminal copies and pastes with ⌘C and ⌘V, so Ctrl stays with the programs in the terminal.
